Achieva.com - This is an excellent website with everything you need to start the college search process from choosing a college to getting financial aid. This site also offers the "Proven 9 Step Process" article above, as well as test prep materials, scholarship information and a lot more.

College Center - The mission of this site is "to provide advice to students and parents about selecting appropriate colleges and universities, financing college costs, and choosing the school that is most suitable to the student's academic and career interests and family finances." Here you will find great free information about this entire process, which you can customize for your student and family.

College Town USA - According to this site, "College Town University, est. 1998, is dedicated to providing college students with an opportunity to participate fully and actively in the virtual collegiate forum". This is a great site for all aspects of an online campus, including online college courses, college search engine, virtual campus tours, featured schools, and "College Town University" which includes features such as "Career Center", "Greek House", "The Dorms", "Sports Complex" and more.

American College Entrance Directory - Here you will find a huge array of information on a range of topics from "Choosing the Right School" to "Minority Services and Programs", as well as information about scholarships, financial aid and student loans. Lots of great information and links.

College Choice Website - This is a great compilation of information and links for high school students who have chosen to go to college. You will also find well-organized resources about financial aid resources.

College is Possible - This is an excellent site prepared by U.S. colleges and universities to help college bound students determine the right college, how to apply, how and where to get financial aid, loans and more. You will find books, websites and other resources that "administration and financial aid professionals consider most helpful". This goal of this site is to make sure "college is possible" for all Americans.

College Planning Now - The purpose of this site is to provide " students, families and education professionals with information on college selection, admission" and financial aid and more. You will also find a good list of links.
College Quest - After registering for free membership, this site provides you with "in-depth profiles of every undergraduate institution accredited in the U.S.; specially designed tools to help you manage the college admissions and financial aid process; Peterson's database of more than 800,000 scholarships and awards and more." This is a great resource.
College View College Search - This site claims it "can make finding the right college fun and easy" with detailed information about thousands of colleges from a database, virtual tours, e-mail, customized letters and more. By use of their personalized search tool" you'll be able to create a personal search list of items that are most important to you, such as field of study (majors), location, or school size". There is also a lot of information on financial aid. This is an interesting site and a good resource.

College Board - You will find lots of college information, including SAT information, financial aid facts, college search tool, application information and more for just about anyone interested, including students and parents and education professionals.

Getting Ready For College Early - This is a college planning handbook for (believe it or not) middle school students and parents. Its never too early to start planning! You will find information about academics and also help with planning for funding your child's education.

College Rankings - The stated purpose of this site is to "draw together and provide context to various ranking services" in hopes that "the information found here will improve your knowledge about rankings in general and help you better use these services." This is an interesting service that also provides features cautioning the users of "rankings" to use a bit of skepticism in the process.

TIME/Princeton Review - The Best College For You - A nicely-done site which is simple to use and provides a lot of information about admissions, college life, choosing the best school and then paying for it.

College Aid - This site says it has the "world's largest database of scholarships and grants with more than 500,000 sources of funding available", and offers students the ability to complete and file an online financial aid application, and receive a response within 7 days.
